10 Power Snacks for the Brain

Are you ever working on a project and stop for a snack and then after the snack, you’re feeling a bit drowsy and in the mood for a nap? You probably grabbed the wrong snack! One thing is true: what you eat determines your mood and can dictate how well you commit yourself to the task at hand. This post is for those of us who have a hard time choosing a good power snack to keep  going and often opt for an easier snack than for the healthier snack!

If you’ve got a sweet tooth and really need your daily dose of chocolate, try reaching for some dark chocolate instead. While milk chocolate can be more fulfilling sometimes, dark chocolate is a power snack filled with antioxidants and aids in focus and concentration! We are no strangers to coffee. I, myself, reach for coffee multiple times a day, especially if I am working late at night. Caffeine can provide you with increased alertness, better visual focus to a screen, and improved memory. Drink caffeine as a power snack to help you stay energized.

Strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries are all power snacks. Any fruit ending in -berry is packed with antioxidants! This protects your brain against aging, which helps with memory. This is more of a long-term snack. The more often you eat them, the more you’ll see the results when it comes to your memory.
